Indispensable Time-Savers for Autodesk Revit

I'm slowly getting back into blogging after our glorious holiday in Canada & Alaska… 


During a recent Revit Fundamentals Training course, I'd like to remind all that IMAGINiT Utilities for Revit 2012 are now available on their website and in their client portal - a facility for IMAGINiT’s Autodesk Subscription and Support clients.


IMAGINiT Utilities for Revit 2012 supports only Revit 2012 products however they do also offer versions for Revit 2010 and Revit 2011. 



New for 2012 include…

ViewSetup Cover all the levels, phases and types of views you want with information presented to you in the ViewSetup utility in a grid, you can easily generate dozens to hundreds of new views with ease. 

DWFPlus Create DWF files with more BIM information - whether augmenting parameter data in 2D and 3D, adding hyperlinks, or creating new viewpoints to highlight content, DWFPlus will make your DWFs into the deliverables you expect from Revit. 

Translate Working with clients in other languages? Powered by Google Translate™, you can use this utility to automatically translate notes and room information from the current drawing language into one of six other languages. Includes additional configuration for special words and words that should not be translated.

A IMAGINiT Utilities for Revit Lite, is available for a free download to try out which includes these four popular utilities, Room Renumber, Change Case, Space Update and Grid Select.

Free (or Low Cost) Apps for Mac OSX

The best thing I ever did was switch from PC to Mac OSX which seems like eons ago now…   Since then, many other friends and relatives have also switched and have asked me for a list of my favourite free (or low cost) "tools" or "apps" for the Mac that will make their lives easier… This is what I've come up with so far (in no particular order)... All time favourite red wine...

For those who know me, it’s common knowledge that I love red wine - Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, alternatives like, Montepulciano, Tannat, Saperavi, Nebbiolo to name a few.   Do you have an all time favourite. Ok, I know that’s difficult for most red wine affectionados but I fell in love with this wine variety early 2000s. So what is it you ask??? Durif... those who know me will be well aware of this amazing wine.   This red wine grape from the Rhone Valley wasn’t highly regarded in its native France.   Durif is actually a cross between the noble grape Syrah and the less well-known Peloursin. It was created at the University of Montpellier in the 1880s by a gentleman named Dr. Durif - a nurseryman who was looking to develop a grape variety resistant to downy mildew, one of many scourges of the vine.
