Back home again...



I apologize for the lack of posts during the past week (or so), but I couldn't seem to find time to write anything live from AU2008 - AU this year was a very busy, but a fantastic time for me. Hosting the AUGI Past Presidents' luncheon, attending the AU Blogger Social, the AUGI booth and a plethora of AUGI meetings, to name but a few of the activities that kept me busy...










One of the best parts of AU for me is always getting a chance to talk directly with fellow AUGIlets, Local User Group peeps and this year, AUGI Country Chapter peoples. It was particularly great to finally meet in person, long time online friend, Binu Mathew, President of the Focus Kuwait User Group. Its always great to hear from other Local User Groups & Country Chapters to hear about the variety of challenges that are out there.
















I'm also thankful I was able to get out and about to get some local Vegas photos and some of the magnificent Venetian Resort Hotel...


























For those of you who didn't make it to AU2008 - you don't know what you missed but hopefully we'll see you at AU2009 at The Mandalay Bay...

Free (or Low Cost) Apps for Mac OSX

The best thing I ever did was switch from PC to Mac OSX which seems like eons ago now…   Since then, many other friends and relatives have also switched and have asked me for a list of my favourite free (or low cost) "tools" or "apps" for the Mac that will make their lives easier… This is what I've come up with so far (in no particular order)... All time favourite red wine...

For those who know me, it’s common knowledge that I love red wine - Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, alternatives like, Montepulciano, Tannat, Saperavi, Nebbiolo to name a few.   Do you have an all time favourite. Ok, I know that’s difficult for most red wine affectionados but I fell in love with this wine variety early 2000s. So what is it you ask??? Durif... those who know me will be well aware of this amazing wine.   This red wine grape from the Rhone Valley wasn’t highly regarded in its native France.   Durif is actually a cross between the noble grape Syrah and the less well-known Peloursin. It was created at the University of Montpellier in the 1880s by a gentleman named Dr. Durif - a nurseryman who was looking to develop a grape variety resistant to downy mildew, one of many scourges of the vine.
